Social Media Officer (f/m)
in part-time (50%)
based in Berlin, Germany.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Media Officer to successfully execute the digital communication goals of a new project exploring women’s rights in east Africa. The Social Media Officer will support with the development, monitoring, and reporting of the campaign’s online goals, while additionally strengthening and building DSW’s online communications approach at the international level.
Areas of responsibility for the position include:
- Develop and coordinate a social media strategy and work plan.
- Promote and create relevant content topics both online and via social media to reach target audiences (images, video, and written).
- Monitor, listen, and respond to user base, and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
- Coordinate social media design and development e.g. Twitter ads, Blog, new channels, etc.
- Engage in online dialogues with partners and audiences to promote the goals of the project.
- Monitor trends in social media tools with a view to revising social media, content marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), and social advertising direction.
- Define and analyse key metrics for measuring social media impact.
Requirements
- University degree or professional qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or in another relevant field.
- At least three years’ experience working in communications, cross culturally in an international environment.
- Must be a native-level English speaker, with a strong proficiency in German.
- Demonstrated experience developing/coordinating social media strategies, implementing activities, and engaging with a variety of stakeholders to advance a projects goals.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, & new emerging platforms), their respective participants, and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
- Dynamic presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience in working in development, and willingness to travel to Africa.
