Programme Manager (m/f)

to join our Challenge Prize Centre and lead on the development of a high profile challenge initiative seeking innovations in areas that impact the socially and economically marginalised. The initiative will engage with public sector, corporate and civil society stakeholders to build a collaborative model for identifying, supporting and helping to grow existing innovative businesses, charities, social enterprises and other groups.
This programme focuses on addressing issues pertinent to people who are struggling on lower and middle incomes, whether they be financial problems, poor mental health provision or relative exclusion from opportunities in employment or skills development.
The successful candidate will be an innovative self-starter with keen analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, a bias toward action and a strong capacity for managing complex and uncertain projects. This individual will also have experience in and passion for social entrepreneurship, innovative technologies and unique approaches or models to deliver societal impact. Additionally, the successful candidate will be comfortable building common missions and purpose across public sector, corporate and civil society organisations and will have engaged with a diverse range of senior stakeholders across these types of groups.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent programme and project management experience, including designing and adapting project plans based within budgetary and delivery constraints
- Experience of managing and leading diverse teams and forming collaborative partnerships across public sector, civil society and corporate stakeholders
- Strong analytic and conceptual thinking capabilities with an ability to translate insights into clear, concise and compelling narratives or outputs
- Deft facilitation and consensus-building skills both within small groups and across larger groups with disparate or unaligned interests
- Experience of market/sector analysis and decision making
- A strong background in, knowledge of and networks in social purpose innovation
- UK social sector employment or voluntary experience with exposure to scaling up social sector offerings to a larger number of beneficiaries, geographies or offering types (Desirable)
- Social investment background with experience evaluating business models and delivery teams focused on innovating within challenge social and economic problem areas or experience mentoring and supporting leadership teams within these areas (Desirable)
- Experience of operating at, working alongside, and presenting recommendations to either executive or board levels stakeholders (Desirable)
