Partnerships & Projects Associate
Start date: 2 October 2017 (or ASAP)

Key Information

  • Remuneration: £25,000 per annum plus performance bonus
  • Benefits: Contribution to group pension scheme, 25 days of annual leaves

Role and Responsibilities

1. Partnerships - research to build up the fundraising and partnership pipeline of potential leads; outreach to create initial leads for the partnerships team.



The successful candidate uses detective and research skills to find out as much as he/she can about major players in the UK funding landscape - whether that’s corporates or foundations. The candidate analyzes on their funding history and funding strategy, determines whether they are a good fit with Ashoka, and formulates the best strategy to approach them. This lays the groundwork from which we’ll fundraise. The candidate then works with the partnerships team to progress the relationship, including providing support on documentation and preparing for the pitches / meetings. The candidate needs to be a savvy researcher as well as an excellent communicator.

2. Project management - support and lead on programmatic and partnership project management. 


We run a wide variety of projects and events designed to engage the network that we manage (partners, Ashoka Fellows, Ashoka Support Network, education leaders) and the wider ecosystem. The successful candidate will start off supporting, and soon taking the lead on various programmatic and partnership project management (e.g. a mix of supporting the annual Fellows Induction day, leading the logistics for the programme of Skoll World Forum, project managing any new partnership deliverables, etc.). The candidate will take pride in organizing smooth and impactful events, thrive on creating a highly engaging experience for the audience, and enjoy coordinating with internal team members as well as external stakeholders such as Fellows, Ashoka Support Network members and partners.  

3. Communications & social media upkeep - light touch upkeep of Ashoka UK’s social media presence; being the champion to minor internal communications needs. 


The successful candidate will keep Ashoka UK’s facebook and Twitter audience engaged with interesting posts about social entrepreneurship, social impact, youth, the work of our Fellows, and opportunities.  The candidate may also lead on communications and social media coverage within partnerships.

  • Ability to work productively, proactively and independently, on own initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management with an ability to manage multiple work streams for various projects
  • Strong ability to design processes and manage programmes
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Team builder and coordinator
  • Excellent communication skills and English fluency
  • At least 2 years of work experience
