Social Finance seeks a
Management Accountant.
Opportunity
Social Finance has grown from two to over sixty-five people over the last ten years.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the business as we continue to grow. The role of the Management Accountant is to strengthen our finance team to ensure that our strategic vision is matched with a sound financial future. This is an important appointment which would suit someone who may have held a management accountant role elsewhere but is now looking for some more flexibility, with part-time as an option.
About You
You will be a part/qualified accountant, be technically proficient, highly motivated, organised and be particularly attentive to detail. You will have had a number of years’ experience as a management accountant. You will be able to build relationships at all levels of staff so that over time they turn to you for support.
You should relish the prospect of working in a more entrepreneurial environment. It is essential that you are a good communicator, be able to work alongside a variety of teams as well as lead projects independently. The successful candidate will be technically proficient, highly motivated, organised and have excellent Excel skills together with advanced experience with SAGE.
The Finance team consists of the Financial Controller and a part time Book-keeper and works closely with the CEO and COO.
Finance functions include:
You will work with the Financial Controller and Book-keeper to carry out the Finance functions:
- Management Information Systems
- Review and preparation of the monthly management accounts.
- Preparation of the cash flow forecasting as a key management tool.
- Preparation / reporting of annual budget and bi-monthly reforecasts.
- Review and updating finance procedures as required.
- Reporting
- Preparation of VAT and FCA returns for Financial Controller review.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for the auditors.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial updates for the Board of Directors.
- Audit
- External auditor, tax and other advisors’ liaison.
Other responsibilities include:
- Assisting with FCA compliance e.g. maintaining CDD records and risk registers.
- Review of engagement letters, sales contracts and grant agreements.
- Identification of greater efficiencies that could be driven through purchasing.
- Supporting business units with financial budgeting and reporting.
- Other ad hoc duties as required. For example, review of insurance policies for multiple entities, assistance with tenders and proposals submitted by the wider team.
