Job Coach
- Full time, permanent, based in Central London
- Salary range £25k-£40k, depending on experience
- Start in early 2018
The role
Are you passionate about autism and social enterprise? As a job coach, you will be preparing up to 10 autistic IT Consultants for projects in changing client environments, mediating the relationship between autistic employees and clients, and negotiating workplace adjustments. This involves full briefing of the client in terms of autism and the individual characteristics of their new co-worker, as well as assisting autistic colleagues with the respective corporate cultures, and helping them in arranging further support outside of Auticon.
Other tasks include:
- Hosting regular 1-1 job coaching sessions with up to 10 autistic colleagues
- Developing personalised wellbeing strategies for autistic colleagues
- Supporting autistic colleagues in maintaining good mental health
- Handling Access to Work applications for autistic colleagues
- Development and implementation of Auticon’s recruitment strategy
- Hosting and facilitating interviews, skills assessments and workshops
- Liaising with social workers, carers, GPs and public bodies
- Continuous and dedicated improvement of our procedures
Your profile
You are passionate about Asperger syndrome, with an interest in keeping the balance between social impact and economic profitability. You have an outgoing, positive, empathetic, assertive and dedicated personality and a clear and straightforward communication style, with:
- Background in psychology, social work, education, business or IT
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Above-average social and communication skills
- Resilience and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities at once
- The ability to remain calm under stress and to prioritise under pressure
- A professional understanding of computer sciences/IT projects
- Professional experience with Access to Work applications (a plus)
- Willingness to travel within the UK to visit autistic colleagues on site
- Right to work in the UK
