CDP is a leading international charity founded 16 years ago to address dangerous climate change. It has since grown to become the world’s foremost system for companies and cities to report on carbon emissions, water stewardship and deforestation. CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual with a background in corporate sustainability to join CDP Europe’s team to consolidate and increase our Reporter Services membership program operations in continental Europe.
Account Manager - Reporter Services
Location: Berlin

This is a unique opportunity to apply your skills and experience in a dynamic and fast growing charity. The position will report directly to the CDP Europe Director responsible for Reporter Services and will be supported by Reporter Services team colleagues across the world.
The individual will work closely with CDP stakeholders and interact with colleagues globally but with a focus on Europe. In this role you will split your time between delivering benefits to existing Reporter Services members and being responsible for securing their renewal income, and developing and launching new products and services into the offering. The role is also expected to secure new business in the future.
This is a full time position, based on achieving KPI’s for member’s progress against program and mission objectives and also by achieving specific renewal and new business income targets.
Candidates must be eligible to work in Europe, willing to relocate to Berlin and speak fluent German and English. Previous applicants should not apply.
Responsibilities:
- Support program members in advancing their sustainability strategies
- Serve needs of existing accounts through CDP’s annual reporting cycle with disclosure support, score feedback, gap analysis and final review
- Support members to utilise the data reported through CDP for benchmarking, incl. alignment with their wider sustainability strategy and own CDP reporting, and their external and internal communication
- Engage with European and Global companies and have a good understanding of their practices
- Develop leads and convert them into CDP Reporter Services members
- Contribute to the regional teams by integrating the reporter services work of regional members
- Contribute to the wider development and strategy of the CDP Reporter Services program
- Public speaking at events and conferences representing CDP’s Reporter Services work as a subject matter expert
- Development of marketing materials, case studies and testimonials
- Active coordination with other CDP teams to engage efficiently and in an organized manner with stakeholders
Required skills:
- Excellent communication skills, ability to interact convincingly with people at different levels of seniority and different cultural backgrounds
- Advanced analytical skills
- Experience in account management highly desirable,
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Experience in climate change and sustainability, with a special focus on GHG emissions and / or water
- Excellent planning skills – both at strategic and operational levels
- Willingness to travel
- Flexibility and creative problem-solving
- Ability to work within an annual process with shifting priorities
- Familiarity with IT tools including CRM, MS Office, Webex and Zoho, with ability to master new systems
- Fluent in English and German (requirement). Spanish, French or Italian language a plus
Qualifications and work experience:
- Minimum BA/BSc degree
- Minimum 3 years work experience, ideally corporate, and additional NGO experience an advantage
- Keen interest in corporate sustainability themes and related company internal challenges
- Knowledge of the CDP reporting process, scoring methodology/technical guidance or ability to learn quickly
- Familiarity with GHG inventories and accounting is a significant advantage
