Oxford Hub is looking for a:
Projects Coordinator
to join our team and support the delivery of some of our key social action activities. The successful candidate will have the energy and passion to grow the social action movement in Oxford, be a natural motivator and community organiser. In particular, you will be responsible for supporting the successful running of our volunteering projects, coordinating outreach and publicity to increase engagement and supporting our student executive committee. We are particularly planning to grow the number of resident volunteers involved in our programmes over the next year. This is a superb chance to meet outstanding people, develop key skills and create significant social impact.

You will also take part in training to help you develop personally and professionally. Previous Oxford Hub staff members have gone on to gain roles at Oxfam, Teach First and The Girls’ Network. - Duration: Mid-August- mid-June (contract length 10 months)
- Hours: 37.5 per week, flexi-time
- Location: First Floor, 16-17 Turl Street, Oxford, with the possibility to work remotely and at home when necessary
About the Position
Projects Delivery The Projects Coordinator will be responsible for delivering some of our volunteering projects and activities. You will be responsible for:
- LinkAges: Volunteering programme working with older people in care home, with IT classes in community centres and gardening in older people’s homes
- Language Exchange: Weekly Arabic-English language café
- FELLOW: Volunteer-run Free English Lessons for Overseas Workers in four different locations
- OxCoop and Project Soup: Volunteer run food cooperative that meets weekly and pop-up food waste soup kitchen.
- Student Volunteering Week and Volunteers Week: National weeks celebrating volunteers and mobilising new volunteers.
For each of these projects you will need to support the committees running the projects to ensure successful delivery and continued volunteer engagement, in particular facilitating the recruitment and inclusion of non-student volunteers into these activities, Support with volunteer recruitment and training throughout the year, both to student and nonstudent volunteers, Seek to improve and grow the projects in particular to new non-student volunteers.
Volunteer Support
- As Project Coordinator, you are responsible for connecting volunteers with the Hub and providing them with relevant training, resources and advice.
- Providing a first point of contact for volunteers engaging with your areas of responsibility, being on hand by email, phone or in person to answer questions and provide advice.
- Working with the project committees and executive committee to deliver events and outreach initiatives effectively communicating the community need for social action in Oxford and the benefits for volunteers.
- Supporting over 400 students on scholarships with their volunteering requirements, through information fairs, drop-in sessions and signposting.
- Supporting the executive committee to run the Ethical Network and maximise its effectiveness.
- Create and develop engaging marketing both online and offline through social media, blogs, newsletters, flyers and posters, for example.
- Recruitment and support of volunteers in all relevant areas of work.
Student Hubs Staff Team
- Beyond the Oxford Hub responsibilities, team members are part of the wider Student Hubs staff team and as such are expected to:
- Attend weekly team meetings (online) and 6-weekly team days (in Oxford, London or Winchester),
- Deal with all matters sensitively and discretely at all times abiding by relevant confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection policies,
- Share and develop best practice with other members of the Student Hubs network,
- Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as may be reasonably expected as part of this role.
