Renaisi is an award-winning social enterprise with a simple goal: to spark change in place. We believe that the best way to do this is to ask a question: what does it take to improve a place? What makes us unique is the fact that we combine two things in one business: we deliver employment support, advice, connection and engagement services to individuals and we help social organisations, charities and institutions to deliver greater impact through our consultancy services.
Renaisi is currently looking for an
Evaluation and Research Project Manager
London | Full-time
Salary: £28-37k p.a. dependent on experience
The successful candidate would join our Consultancy Team which has an excellent reputation for supporting organisations in evaluating their services, understanding their impact and making a strategic change to further that impact. Our clients are charities, public services, local government and funders, and we support them to understand what works and why, as well as to understand their ongoing learning and improvement. We also have a track record of engaging in large, complex programmes of learning and change in places.
We’re empathetic and analytical people. We have backgrounds in social policy, gender, criminology, behavioural science and public policy, but we’ve also worked providing frontline services to vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
About the role:
As a Project Manager in the Consultancy Team you will manage a variety of projects, mostly research or evaluation-related but with the opportunity to gain some experience across different teams in our organisation. Some of your projects will be internal, to help with Renaisi’s own development, but most will be external-facing with our client organisations.
Our project managers are responsible for the day-to-day project management of some of our smaller client commissions, and also play a role in supporting Senior Project Managers on our medium sized and larger projects. You will oversee the performance of the contract, manage project officers working on the project, be the main point of contact with clients and manage the budget and project team resourcing effectively.
You will have expertise in designing and delivering qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. We will match you with projects based on your skills and experience, and as far as possible with areas that interest you or will benefit your professional development. We can’t predict what types of client projects you might be working on in the future, but they are guaranteed to involve interesting social issues and an insight into how different organisations work. You will primarily be working on research and evaluation projects with a qualitative focus, but our project managers can also work across our consultancy team and support our neighbourhoods work.
Project Managers also play a key role in business development by contributing to and/or taking responsibility for proposal writing and attending pitches. They also contribute to cross-organisational learning and working, and supporting other members of the team to develop their skills.
You would spend your day working on a range of activities, including:
- Supporting organisations to understand how research, evaluation and data can improve their work.
- Project managing small research and evaluation projects for external clients or internally at Renaisi, with responsibility for adhering to agreed budgets, resource plans and timelines; meeting project milestones; managing the work of the project team and ensuring quality assurance is provided by senior colleagues.
- Designing and implementing high-quality research, analysis and evaluation methodologies on a range of social policy areas, projects and programmes as part of Renaisi’s consultancy work. This might include: designing discussion guides; conducting interviews in person or over the phone; setting up and running surveys; facilitating focus groups and workshops; recruiting participants, and managing sub-contractors or partners.
- Conducting robust and imaginative analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to create insight for Renaisi and our clients.
- Ensuring ethical approaches are used in all of our research.
- Potentially line managing more junior members of the Consultancy Team.
What we’re looking for:
As much as we’re looking for someone with the relevant skills, knowledge and experience, we are also looking for someone who wants to make a difference to communities, organisations and places. We’re passionate about that and you’ll need to be too!
How to apply:
Please apply via our job portal with a CV and covering letter outlining your skills and experience against the job description/personal specification.
Closing Date: 2pm on Friday, 24th August 2018 – applications received after this time will not be considered.
Interviews will take place week beginning: Tuesday 28th August 2018.
