Programme Coordinator Francophone Africa and Capacity Development

The Water Integrity Network Association (WIN e.V.), dedicated to fighting corruption and promoting integrity in the global water sector, is looking for a Programme Coordinator. Based in Berlin, they will report to the Executive Director, and will contribute to a small and experienced multi-cultural team in building partnerships and alliances, raising resources, and implementing WIN’s strategic objectives.

WIN supports an open network of individuals, organizations, and governments working to improve water integrity worldwide. We research the impact of corruption and poor integrity in the water sector, and advocate for better governance. We also develop and promote tools for more Transparency, Accountability, Participation, and the introduction of Anti-corruption measures at all levels. WIN focuses on capacity development and reducing integrity risks in programmes worldwide, with the aim of improving water sector performance and equity to the benefit of all, especially the most vulnerable. WIN has a small, multilingual and highly committed team to further our mission in close cooperation with partners in government, civil society, international organisations, and the private sector across the globe. With the development of the team, specific responsibilities may be realigned in consultation with staff over time.

WIN is looking for a dynamic and experienced

Programme Coordinator,

to be based in Berlin, Germany, or potentially in West-Africa

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Programme Coordinator is responsible for two distinct work streams from WIN Strategy 2017-2022 ‘Engaging with partners for change’:

  1. Development and implementation of programmes and strategic advocacy related to water integrity in (francophone) West-Africa;
  2. Scaling capacity development initiatives on water governance and integritys to leverage the learnings and recommendations that WIN gathers through its work and that of its partners.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Overall management and further development of WIN initiatives and programmes in (francophone) West-Africa to ensure the effective delivery of outcomes in accordance with WIN’s global strategy
  • Maintain and implement a regional advocacy approach and ensure the dissemination of WIN tools and methodologies
  • Contribute actively to the related Communities of Practice
  • Stimulate relevant partnerships and multi-stakeholder platforms
  • Initiate, conduct and maintain strategic dialogue with high level actors from local government, private sector, civil society, regional and international organisations
  • Coordinate WIN’s efforts to establish capacity development programmes and partnerships globally
  • Act as contact point with donors investing in West-Africa and capacity development
  • Ensure good quality reports for the ongoing contracts with donors and partners
  • Promote WIN’s values internally and externally

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in international development programmes, preferably in the water sector or in the anti-corruption field
  • At least 2 years of experience working in francophone Africa, having developed a network of relevant contacts and being able to show a track record of achievements
  • In-depth experience in working on one or more of the following topics: governance, corruption, integrity, capacity development, online trainings, communities of practice
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Demonstrable previous experience in fundraising, project identification and proposal writing
  • Relevant post-graduate degree
  • Experience in facilitation of events and workshops, giving trainings and public speaking in French
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, promoting gender equality desirable
  • Experience with NGO advocacy desirable

  • Contract: 2 years, renewable
  • Location: WIN office, Berlin, Germany, or potentially in West-Africa
  • Reporting lines: Reports to the WIN Executive Director
  • Starting date: As soon as possible
  • Job grade: III
  • Remuneration: Depending upon experience, within WIN salary scale, grade III. Relocation allowance according to WIN e.V. rules.
