Position summary:
At the Rainforest Alliance we are looking for a collaborative and results oriented Markets Transformation Manager to position the Rainforest Alliance as a sustainability partner of choice and thought leader with our key stakeholders in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (the DACH region), such as industry forums, companies, media and other multiplicators.
At Rainforest Alliance, we see market transformation as a strategic process creating lasting change in behaviour by removing barriers and/or utilizing opportunities to accelerate the adoption of sustainable supply chain management. To this end, we work with a holistic, multi-stakeholder strategy, through which we strive to promote the value of sustainable supply chain management and harness the power of market forces and players to this end.
Working with the European as well as the Global Key Markets team, the DACH Market Transformation Manager will use their knowledge of supply chains and sustainability trends in the DACH region to develop and implement a regional strategy to make Rainforest Alliance the preferred sustainability partner of key stakeholders and strengthen the public recognition of Rainforest Alliance.
Responsibilities:
- The Rainforest Alliance’s Core Values are Impact, Change, Collaboration, Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviours we demonstrate;
- Leads alignment and implementation of the DACH markets transformation strategy to establish Rainforest Alliance as a sustainability leader and preferred partner;
- Gathers and analyses market intelligence on sustainability trends and insights that are relevant to advancing Rainforest Alliance’s mission and strengthening our relevance to global sustainable development;
- Manages a portfolio of stakeholder relationships including media, NGOs, industry forums, corporate partners, and other key stakeholders;
- Creates and monitors country plans/ goals as well as account plans for focus accounts in specific sectors
- Advances, jointly with other Account Managers in the DACH region, the organizational visibility and thought leadership of Rainforest Alliance;
- Responsible for Markets Transformation revenue goals in selected sectors;
- Responsible for expanding engagement of key industry players across Rainforest Alliance’s suite of offerings, including certification programs;
- Works closely with colleagues in the Certification Led Sectors department to understand Rainforest Alliance’s sector strategies and priorities and translates these into engagement and growth opportunities in the market and;
- Collaborates with other relevant departments on Rainforest Alliance’s positioning in the market (notably Advocacy & Themes and Marketing & Communications).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Food Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Development or any other relevant field; or equivalent working experience;
- Minimum 7 years’ experience within the context of sustainability in the DACH region; with demonstrable experience in business development; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrable experience of engaging at industry conferences and high-level meetings;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner;
- Knowledge of, and commitment to sustainability practices, environmental issues and challenges in the agricultural and forestry sectors;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to align stakeholders around a common agenda and to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals; A team-player and self-starter that is comfortable with a broad role;
- Written and verbal proficiency in German and English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Ability to travel regularly within the DACH region up; occasional international travel may be required.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience.
