Kiron Open Higher Education (gGmbH) is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with a mission to remove the barriers refugees face in accessing higher education. Through an innovative model of blended learning, Kiron offers tailor-made curricula of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) through renowned educational platforms like coursera and edx so that refugees can start studying, regardless of their asylum status. Courses are mostly provided in English, completely free of charge for the students and all accessible via our learning platform Kiron Campus.
Through strong partnerships with accredited universities worldwide, students have the opportunity to finish their program with a regular bachelor’s degree. Today, a team of 40 employees receives further support from about 400 volunteers worldwide and a competence pool consisting of experts from relevant fields, such as professors, psychologists and business specialists. Your opportunities and responsibilities at Kiron:
- Management and further conceptual development of Kiron’s Direct Academics Programme.
- Concept Development and implementation of the Academic Advisory Programme.
- Quality assurance of the programme according to scientific standards.
- Identification of the benefits of individualized services from Direct Academics.
- Coordination Direct Academics programme volunteers and recruitment of lecturers.
- Management of data collection and intermediate analyses following scientific standards as well as conduct of a conclusive survey-based analysis.
- Report of research results in collaboration with the Research Department.
Your set of skills:
- You hold a master’s degree in the field of educational sciences or other relevant studies.
- You possess profound knowledge of blended learning curricula and pedagogical concepts of course guidance in Higher Education or in non-academic fields of action with at least one year of work experience.
- You are experienced in managing (volunteer) teams.
- You are familiar with an academic working environment.
- You are a self-starter, adaptive & resilient and have an entrepreneurial mind-set.
- You are fluent in academic English and German and are proficient with the Microsoft Office Package and Google Apps.
- You share the vision of free education worldwide for refugees.
