Migration Hub Network creates Hubs where social entrepreneurs and organizations meet to design solutions around mass migration. We support initiatives, connect people and create projects in many different fields regarding migration.
We need you! MIGRATION HUB NETWORK is looking for a part-time volunteer:
Project Coordinator for an exchange project
(time span: 1st of September until 30th of November)
supported by a grant from the קרן פורום העתיד גרמניה- ישראל | ZukunftsforumIsraelisches-Deutsch Stiftung.
About the exchange project:
Germany and Israel, and in particular Tel Aviv and Berlin, have encountered a massive influx of refugees seeking shelter and asylum. We therefore elaborated the possibility to create an exchange between representatives from both cities to evaluate opportunities, as well as challenges, both for the hosting community and for the newcomers in the respective location, society and culture. Berlin and Tel-Aviv are also both places of constant development, creativity and technological advancement, which can be utilized to approach these challenges with innovative approaches and tools.
The exchange programme aims to foster cooperation and the cross-cultural exchange of knowledge, learnings and approaches, to learn about how to transform mass migration challenges into opportunities. The general aim is to learn from each other and understand each other better, interculturally with the same or similar goals in mind, and a vision of a better future for people living together on this one planet we share.
The core of this programme consists of two weekends - 6th until 9th of October in Berlin and from 17th until 20th of November in Tel-Aviv - where changemakers, social entrepreneurs, community leaders, activists, researchers, city, governmental and ngo-representatives as well as volunteers and interested citizens and experts come together to facilitate discussions and workshops focusing on the challenges each country and city faces in their own specific environment and situation, exchanging best practices, experiences and know-how.
The focus topics of this project are:
How to best offer education and information services for refugees, as well as job market integration and entrepreneurship possibilities. Parallel to this we will evaluate the potential of Social Entreprenership and Social Innovation in this matter, reflect the recent political developments and legal aspects regarding migration and train ourselves on how to integrate the intercultural aspect in the work with refugees and migrants, as well as discuss and evaluate which role initiatives/ projects, civil-society movements, social innovation and technological solutions can play in this matter.
