Senior Consultant Sustainability Supply Chain Risks (80-100%)
based in London, Stockholm or Berlin

Sustainability challenges are rising on the agenda of political and business leaders worldwide. Topics such as climate change, forestry and land-use, water and energy need to be managed very carefully in order to mitigate risks and grasp opportunities. Complex sustainability problems require coordination between different local actors, as well as along the value chain of our clients. As a globally leading sustainability solution provider, south pole group enables clients to understand their impacts and risks, formulate succeeding strategies and take action on the ground.

With 15 offices around the globe, a renowned track record for implementation of GHG mitigation activities in more than 25 countries and extensive experience with consultancy services, south pole group is well positioned to contribute to the carbon markets of tomorrow.

Within this context we are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to join the team.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination and management of projects and consultancy mandates related to corporate sustainability and supply chain risk
  • Delivering high-quality consultancy reports in English
  • Design of project work plans, schedules and budgets
  • Leading of assignment-specific, international teams composed of internal and external experts and organisations
  • Liaison with clients on a project-basis
  • Supporting the acquisition of new mandates through the preparation and submission of proposals
  • Development of concept and methodologies for new corporate consulting opportunities
  • Involvement in strategic development, product development and knowledge management

Your profile

  • A university degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental engineering, Agronomy, or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in project management, business development and consultancy for corporate clients
  • Sound understanding of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies, especially with the integration of sustainability in corporate business supply chains
  • Specific experience in sustainability and corporate supply chain risks with particular focus on agricultural raw materials and water
  • Experience in monitoring and quantification of environmental impacts along the supply chain on climate, water and forests
  • Practical experience with agricultural supply chains in tropical countries and project development / program management is of advantage
  • Proven knowledge and network in the relevant fields
  • Excellent oral and written command of English, and professional proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Spanish, German, Swedish, French, Bahasa Indonesia
  • Extensive coordination, project management, proposal writing and presentation skills
  • Diligent, reliable and independent approach to work and ability to act as a team leader in a multicultural environment
  • Commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
