Over the next year we’re planning to build on all the work that’s happened so far to build a sustainable Campaign Bootcamp (called Campaign Boostcamp in Germany) that will be dedicated to training a new generation of activists to build a better world. We will focus on two things - delivering the best campaign training in the world, while increasing diversity in campaigning.

We’re looking for a

Country Manager (m/f)

who will manage and run a Campaign Boostcamp in Germany. The amazing founding team delivered the first training in Germany in 2014. Since then the volunteer team has delivered a second camp and built a thriving community.

We’d love for you to help us do that by joining the team as the German Country Manager. Your job will be to build on the energy and dedication of the founding team and turn Campaign Boostcamp from a volunteer led organisation into a sustainable non-profit. You won’t be doing this alone. We’ve won some funding, you’ll have the support of the entire local volunteer team and you’ll be heavily supported by the Campaign Bootcamp UK team.

The key work will be:

  • You’ll work closely with the volunteer team to lead on the planning, launch and delivery of the next Campaign Boostcamp training camp in 2017 and 4 days of follow up training
  • You’ll use your network of NGO partners and other campaign organisations to persuade them to pay to send staff on the next Campaign Boostcamp
  • You’ll hire and manage an events assistant to help the team, manage your growing community and run the events
  • Over the two years you will work to create a sustainable organisation in Germany that continues to deliver Boostcamps year on year.

To deliver all this it’s essential that you:

  1. Have experience of working in the campaigning sector
  2. Have experience of successful institutional fundraising
  3. Are committed to increasing excellence and diversity in campaigning
  4. Are committed to building on all the work that’s gone so far to create a sustainable German focussed non-profit. This includes being a self starter, can manage own workload and ask for help when needed.
  5. Can commit at least 11 months to the project, at least 4 days a week with occasional work on weekends
  6. Have experience managing events, conferences or trainings
  7. Are comfortable with working with Google Apps, Wordpress, Squarespace, Skype, and other modern communication tools.
  8. Have experience using a CRM to stay on top of relationships
  9. Are fluent in English and German
  10. Have experience identifying what is the best path forwards when there’s a lot of uncertainty and then prioritising workload to achieve results.
  11. Understand that this is a startup with a lot of ambition and there is some risk that the project might not work out. So it’s essential that you have experience managing complex, fast moving projects, with a lot of unknown elements across multiple stakeholders.
  12. Have experience managing budgets with a lot of unknown elements, experience managing invoices, and chasing payments

It would be desirable if you have:

  1. Experience of working in social enterprise
  2. Experience of managing a training programme
  3. Experience of delivering inclusive training without barriers
  4. Experience of managing a team, including volunteers
  5. Experience in working in projects dealing with diversity and inclusion.
  6. Experience of working remotely
  7. Experience in marketing using email, social media, mainstream media
  8. Fluency in languages other than German and English, for example Turkish or Arabic
  9. Experience creating nimble, lean non-profits within the German context
  10. Experience in customer service
  11. Experience in designing and conducting evaluation methods
  12. Experience researching latest trends in a sector

You’ll be paid 35000-40000 Euro and will start on a full time contract for 12 months. You’ll report to the Campaign Bootcamp Head of Operations and Programmes, based in London. You’ll be based in Berlin and start before April 2017.

We welcome and encourage applications from women, individuals with disabilities, people of color, LGBTQ and minorities in general.

Even if you have not yet commenced employment you will also need to be available to attend a 4 day training in London on the dates 24th - 27th March 2017, all costs will be covered.

To apply just fill in the form on this page by 09.00 GMT Wednesday 15th March and attach your CV.
