Communications Officer
to join the team!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who wants to apply their communication skills to actively shape and develop our external communications. The Communications Officer will work closely with the entire Centre team to conceptualise and implement creative communication efforts and outreach around the Centre’s projects.
Key tasks
The Communications Officer will mainly work with the following areas:
- Coordinate and develop all communication efforts of the Centre together with the Deputy Executive Director, including the website, social media channels, publications and newsletters
- Lead and coordinate the development of a new Centre website in 2017
- Coordinate and develop the platform Disrupt&Innovate, including the research and coordination of blog authors and social media channels
- Develop and implement the Centre’s communication strategy, including outreach around events
- Support special communication projects, e.g. the upcoming campaign around the Civic Charter
- Support quality control and image management to ensure consistent messaging in line with the Centre’s vision and strategy
- Support the team to update and further develop content and formats for communication around Centre projects
- Liaise with external partners, e.g. designers, media agencies, proof readers etc.
- Proofread and edit texts
- Other communications related tasks as assigned by the Deputy Executive Director
The Communications Officer reports to the Deputy Executive Director but will work with a number of other team members on a daily basis.
What we are looking for
A motivated team member with the following profile:
- A minimum of one year of practical experience in working with communication e.g. managing websites and social media channels, developing newsletters, supporting teams in improving their communication efforts
- Strong creative and innovative thinking
- Excellent management and coordination skills, ability to work under pressure
- Independent and pro-active attitude, strong sense of ownership for assigned areas of responsibility
- Ability to work creatively within the restrictions of a small budget
- Strong team work skills and the ability to work with various colleagues on various projects
- Excellent communication skills, native-speaker level English essential; excellent writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of and experience from the civil society sector is considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of website CMS (Wordpress, ExpressionEngine) and design programmes (InDesign) an asset
- Photography and videography skills an asset

Working hours: 40 per week
Holidays: 26 days p.a.
Salary: 2.500 – 2.800 EUR per month before tax as a starting salary, depending on experience
