Administrative & Finance Officer

Meydan TV is a non-profit digital media platform delivering independent news to Azerbaijan, where news is heavily censored by the government. As the Washington Post wrote last year, “The experience of Meydan TV teaches that the digital byways can enable free information to reach closed societies and bypass tyrants.” Our work is based on the belief that independent media is a crucial part of a free and just society.

We’re looking for a committed and enthusiastic

Administrative & Finance Officer (f/m)

to join Berlin team, working from the centrally located office.

Under the supervision of the Deputy Program Director, you will provide administrative and budgeting support for our Meydan TV's international programs and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect bills, assign expenditures by donor, keep track of all expenses against donor agreements, prepare financial reports;
• Check accuracy and completeness of monthly financial reports from Meydan TV’s field offices to ensure compliance with donor and German book-keeping requirements;
• Process timely payments of all recurring expenses;
• Proactively identify areas of potential financial risks, and propose solutions;
• Maintain a proper filing system;
• Ensure smooth daily operations, including office management, of the Berlin office;
• Other relevant duties, as required.

Required qualifications:

• At least 2 – 3 years of work experience in administration or/and finance management, preferably with an NGO or international organization;
• Good understanding of administrative and financial management procedures, in particular with regard to project management and allocation of resources;
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a culturally diverse team;
• Advanced computer skills, in particular excellent knowledge of Excel.
• Fluent in German and English.
