We develop policy positions, education programs, and engagement opportunities for the global Mozilla community to advocate for a healthy internet. Currently, we’re calling for better copyright reform in the EU to protect creativity and innovation online. We’re working with partners in this space, and we want to increase our engagement with local technologists, creators, and librarians.
We’re looking for an organized and well-spoken individual as
Advocacy Engagement Contractor (m/f)
(Germany + France)
to coordinate and facilitate events in France and Germany. These experiences will help the public learn more about the EU copyright directive proposal, and take action to protect our digital futures.
You’ll work with the Policy & Advocacy teams to build and support engagement opportunities around copyright in Europe, focusing on France and Germany. You’ll help maximize offline organizing as an engagement strategy, create pathways for participants to join our movement and stay involved, and iterate on these processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Organizing and producing 5 creative events around copyright by June.
- Engaging leaders in the technologist, creator, and librarian communities.
- Moderating panel conversations.
- Creating opportunities for productive networking for professionals.
- Coordinating with local organizations and individuals to co-host events.
- Working with venue and vendor staff to solidify contracts
- Pre-, during, and post-event logistics, including invitations, set-up, and take down
- Represent Mozilla in a professional manner.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for reporting on events, and communicating the insights, successes, and pain-points with the rest of the team.
- Be a strong voice in communicating and celebrating the engagement opportunities via blog, email, and social media.
What You Bring
- Fluent in German, French and English
- Experience in producing creative events resourcefully.
- Experience moderating discussions in a public setting.
- Familiarity with internet policy issues in the EU.
- Love for being a task-master -- you’re able to track and file info, and keep things moving on schedule.
- An outgoing personality -- people enjoy engaging with you.
- Willingness to travel
