On Purpose seeks a
Business Development & Marketing Manager, London Associate Programme.
Together with the Programme Manager, the Business Development and Marketing Manager co-leads the London Associate Programme, with a focus on developing trusted business relationships and external communications. The role also takes on wider organisational leadership and development, in collaboration with colleagues in other programmes and cities.
Scope of role
This is a rare opportunity to play a leadership role in a well-respected and evolving social enterprise. The Business Development and Marketing Manager co-leads, together with the Programme Manager, the London Associate Programme. Within this (s)he has the following primary responsibilities:
- Finding and managing the network of organisations (from whom the programme receives its revenues) that provide our Associates with their paid work experience that combines social/environmental and commercial ways of working
- Overseeing the recruitment of 40 top-calibre Associates a year
- Planning and managing the programme’s outward marketing and communication
- Supporting wider programme activities, such as facilitating Associate training and managing Associate-placement relationships
Like all members of the On Purpose leadership team, the Business Development & Marketing Manager will also contribute to and lead wider strategic initiatives for the programme and organisation.
The Business Development & Marketing Manager co-leads with the Programme Manager the London Associate team that also includes the Programme & Marketing Analyst (whom (s)he line-manages) and the Programme Coordinator & Finance Manager. (S)he also collaborates closely with his/her counterparts in Berlin and Paris, the relatively newly formed CEO Programme team in London and the Head of Operations; (s)he is line-managed by the CEO (see also here).
Skills profile
This role requires an individual who:
- Is personable and professional, who can quickly forge trusted relationships and is a first-rate communicator through diverse channels
- As the first point of contact with potential placement hosts and Associates, embodies the qualities that On Purpose endeavours to portray, including high levels of integrity, true commitment to a sustainable economy and strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and flexibility, has a positive nature and a can-do attitude, in a small and developing organisation
- Has high levels of organisation, reliability, attention to detail
- We can form a warm and friendly relationship with and who will fit into and complement London and wider team
Remuneration, benefits and holidays
This is a full-time position with a salary of £38,000-£42,000 p.a.. On Purpose also pays a 5% employer’s contribution into the organisation’s pension scheme.
The holiday allowance is 25 days p.a. (in addition to UK bank holidays).
