The climate needs bright minds. The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) addresses crucial scientific questions in the fields of global change, climate impacts and sustainable development. It is one of the world's leading research institutions in its field and offers natural and social scientists from around the world an inspiring environment for excellent interdisciplinary research.
Within the project East Africa Peru India Climate Capacities (EPICC), we are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Climate Migration to substitute for a 1-year parental leave. The project, which overarching goal is to co-produce user-oriented climate services to better adapt to climate change in the three partner countries, consists of a team of about 17 international scientists focusing on research in the fields of capacity building and knowledge transfer, climate, hydrology and water resources, agriculture and migration. EPICC, is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI), a program of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany (BMU).
For this project PIK is offering

Yet the science-policy gap is still tangible in the subject area, and much can be done to improve institutional frameworks as well as local capacities to address the phenomenon comprehensively.
In this context, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct quantitative research activities on climate migration.

Beyond the research and collabortion opportunities, the candidate should also be enthusiastic to transfer the scientific results to application in policy and planning.
Requirements:
- PhD in in a relevant field
- At least two years research experience working on migration, experience regarding research on the nexus of climate change and migration is a plus
