The International Potato Center (CIP) needs your expertise to turn research results into scalable products. The work of this international institute focuses on applied research on potato, sweet potato, and other root and tuber crops. It is one of the 15 research centres that make up the Global Agricultural Research Partnership (CGIAR). CGIAR has set itself the ambitious goal of using its research to make a quantifiable contribution to reducing poverty and fighting famine. One goal, for example, is for 100 million households in developmentcooperation countries to use innovative products developed through agricultural research by 2022. To achieve these goals, German development cooperation has established a Task Force on Scaling, to which you will belong.
Your tasks will involve:
Developing and implementing approaches for widespread dissemination of research findings and products (scaling cases)
Working towards the institute’s development with regard to scaling and innovation
Sharing experiences with and learning about scaling with other experts from the Task Force
Fundraising for scaling activities for individual agricultural research products
Your profile:
University degree in agricultural sciences, economics, social sciences, innovation management or another subject that meets the position’s requirements
Several years of professional experience with new business models, disruptive innovations and/or in start-up businesses, ideally in the field of agriculture, agribusiness or agricultural marketing
The ability to try out and convey unconventional paths, to take the initiative and communicate creative ideas persuasively
Business fluency in English and French
In addition you have the citizenship of an EU member state for reasons to meet the criteria of the Integrated Experts Program, UK passport holders are eligible to apply
