PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Your role will be to bring our Climate Launchpad (CLP) programme to a new level and scale it globally. Climate Launchpad is a global early stage business idea competition. The programme is focused at creating a global movement of climate innovators and entrepreneurs, identifying climate innovations worldwide and activating the potential of local ecosystems. We currently run this programme in 50+ countries working together with more than 40 partners.
You will be responsible for the overall programme delivery (including partnership management, strategy development, performance management, business development, monitoring and reporting of all activities). You will be working with the central Entrepreneurship team and the Climate Launchpad team liaising closely with colleagues from the Future Funding team, and across EIT Climate-KIC. In pursuit of our broader organisational goals, you will support and receive support from the entire entrepreneurship team to explore, design and build interventions to achieve systematic impact. Your role will be essential to ensure that EIT Climate-KIC supported entrepreneurs and innovators achieve the milestones at their development stage, help them progress to our other entrepreneurship programmes further in the pipeline and support the entire portfolio to move towards a sustainable and scalable climate positive impact.
CAPABILITIES
Strategy development and partnership management
- You will develop and set up a new set of partnerships in order to scale and bring Climate Launchpad to a new level. This entails partnerships with innovation agencies/hubs, media outlets, movement building organisations, entrepreneurship support organisations.
- You will lead the development and execution of the Climate Launchpad programme, connecting this with existing and future portfolio of interventions within EIT Climate-KIC.
- You will support the creation of a vibrant community around Climate Launchpad, composed by innovators and entrepreneurs, partners, mentors and investors.
Programme Leadership
- You will lead the overall programme and coordinate closely with our current delivery partners the implementation of impactful activities across the globe.
- You will represent the Climate Launchpad programme at internal and external events.
- You will introduce monitoring, evaluation, learning processes and adapt the programme to achieve the long-term objectives.
Future Funding
- In line with the strategic and funding goals of EIT Climate-KIC, you will contribute to unlocking large scale future funding opportunities.
- You will develop value propositions for sponsors, donors, foundations and other potential funders and manage relationships with them.
- You will collaborate with internal teams – such as communications and business development to prepare case studies, marketing materials, position papers, success stories and other material to appear to funders and strategic partners.
Mentorship and Management
- You will maintain a strong personal commitment to a transparent and efficient management of public funds and funds from other funders following our internal policies and processes.
- You will be responsible for performance and financial reporting for the Climate Launchpad programme to satisfy the needs of our funders.
- You will support the entire entrepreneurship team to explore, design and build interventions to achieve systematic impact.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- You have a University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in business administration, entrepreneurship, innovation, social & political sciences, climate and energy fields, or another relevant field.
- You have a relevant (5 years’ plus as an indicator) working experience managing and leading projects and/ or programmes around (impact) entrepreneurship, business development or innovation.
- You have experience in startup support, innovation management or related fields, and of managing programmes with an international dimension.
- You must have built and sustained effective partnerships across a variety of entrepreneurship and innovation constituencies.
- You have a solid business development experience, with a proven track-record on fundraising. If you bring an existing network of relationships with funders (sponsors, donors, foundations), it would be a plus.
- You have experience with managing and leading people. Experience and the ability to work with an international team and in a multidisciplinary context.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset; you are active and passionate about the global climate change challenge.
- You have strong and committed networking and organisational abilities, including the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders and collaborate effectively with public and private funders and partners.
- You have strong abilities to reconcile differing expectations, objectives and requirements of multiple organisations and stakeholders to create collaborative solutions.
- You thrive in a busy, dynamic team environment.
- You are flexible and embracing of change.
- You write and speak fluent English. A good command of Spanish, French or German is a plus.
- You are available to travel (1-3 travels/month within Europe and some outside).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please note that candidates must have the right to work in the EU prior to applying for the position. The successful candidate will normally be based at the nearest EIT Climate-KIC office to where they are currently living.
