For the Berlin office of the non-profit association Ärzte für Madagaskar e.V., we are looking to fill a
Minijob position (up to 28 hours per month) in logistics and resource management.
The organization was founded in 2011 by German medical professionals with the aim of improving health care for underserved populations in Madagascar. Doctors for Madagascar supports public, church and private health care institutions to improve the quality of treatment and patient safety, train local professionals and make healthcare affordable for all. The association employs about 50 staff in Madagascar, Berlin and Bonn, and is also supported by volunteers, among them doctors, nursing staff, IT experts, accountants and technicians.
In Madagascar, the organization runs an office in the capital Antananarivo as well as three field offices in the rural south of the country. All project measures are subject to regular evaluations by the Malagasy Ministry of Health and international donors. Doctors for Madagascar is registered in the Transparency Register of the Federal Republic of Germany and is a signatory of Transparency International's Action for a Transparent Civil Society. It works in close cooperation with Charité Global Health, the Einstein Center Digital Future Berlin and the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health.
YOUR PROFILE
- You have experience or training in at least two of the following areas: Supply or replenishment; materials management; vehicle mechanics; energy and electricity; water and sanitation; construction; or information technology.
- You set priorities independently and take initiative.
- You communicate efficiently in a multidisciplinary team.
- An advantage is interest or experience traveling or working in African, Asian or Latin American countries.
- Language skills: German or English (fluent); French (fluent).
YOUR SCOPE OF WORK
- Supporting logistics and resource management (e.g. process development) for medical development cooperation projects in Madagascar.
- Supporting procurement, transport, stockpiling and maintenance of materials, equipment and vehicles
- Supporting the planning, implementation and evaluation of projects for energy and electricity supply and the improvement of water and sanitation facilities.
