Job description
Disinformation on the Internet, especially on social media, is increasingly threatening social cohesion and democratic processes worldwide. The coronavirus pandemic has accentuated this trend: A wave of false and misleading information has been undermining public trust in government and independent journalism, increasing social divisions and endangering citizen’s health. As one of the winners of the #SmartDevelopmentHack of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Digital Enquirer Kit supports journalists, human rights defenders and civil society activists in selected partner countries through a set of e-learnings to identify and address disinformation – especially in the context of Coronavirus disease 2019 – and to protect themselves and their work online.
Your tasks
- Support the project lead in the technical and organizational implementation of the Digital Enquirer Kit
- Support the steering of and technical assistance to national and international consultants
- Ensure project-related communication in cooperation with partners
- Assist with the dissemination of the Digital Enquirer Kit in selected partner countries
- Coordinate the localization of the e-learnings with local partners in the regions America, Africa, Southeast Asia and the „Middle East & North Africa“
- Design and implement a monitoring system for the project
Your profile
- Master’s Degree in political science, social sciences, international relations, development policy or an equivalent subject; a focus on digital policy is desirable
- Strong project management skills and work experience in implementing projects in an international context, ideally in development cooperation
- Strong communication skills and work experience in the field of digital communication
- First experiences in the digital ecosystem, especially in the fields of digital rights and online learning
- Ability to work independently and deliver good work results under time pressure
- Excellent organizational skills and solution-oriented mindset
- High intercultural competences and ability to work in a team
- Fluency in German and English; knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Arabic is an asset
