streetfootballworld is a global NGO that harnesses the power of football to tackle some of the greatest social challenges of our time. The organisation’s work supports an international network of over 120 grassroots organisations that use football as a tool to address deep-rooted community issues, ranging from refugee integration in Ireland to gender equality in Kenya. Collectively, the network empowers more than one million disadvantaged young people per year.

Communications Assistant (f/m)
starting as of January 2017 in Berlin
Job Summary
The Communications Assistant will support streetfootballworld’s communication strategy and the maintenance of all our communications channels.
We’re looking for a creative individual who is passionate about social media, design, and engaging an international audience with his/her texts and audiovisual content. The position will be located in our office in Berlin.
Main Responsibilities
- You write and edit articles, reports, newsletters, blog posts, Op-ed, press releases and interviews for the purpose of communicating the programmes, projects and activities implemented by streetfootballworld.
- You support the design, development and production of audiovisual materials to promote our programmes, including brochures, flyers, merchandise, posters, videoclips, and infographics.
- You contribute to a digital communications strategy, including the creation of contents for our social media and website.
- You upload contents to the streetfootballworld website via CMS.
- You maintain, organize and keep up to date our visual content library (images, video, infographics).
- You maintain lists of press contacts and engage media stakeholders to report on our activities.
- You support the communication and reporting of our local and international events through taking photos and videos, conducting interviews, creating press releases, engaging press contacts and writing event reports.
Key Requirements
- You have a university degree in a related field of studies (e.g. communication & media science, marketing).
- You have a minimum of two years professional experience working with social media channels and platforms.
- You have excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate to different audiences.
- You have strong interest in and/or experience with topics such as sports for development, football for good, social development.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and have experience working with Adobe (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/premiere pro) and CMS.
- Photography and video skills are a plus.
- You are a native English speaker and you speak German fluently. Your knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- You have the ability to structure and carry out your workload independently.
- You are an open-minded team player who likes to think cross-departmental and work together with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- You identify strongly with our cause.
